Restorative Yoga: The Antidote to Stress

Restorative yoga is considered the true antidote to stress because it allows you to relax deeply with awareness. Relaxing with awareness is the key to bringing the mind-body into a state of balance or homeostasis, similar to the effect of meditation. It’s easy to be swept away by the demands of modern life. Today’s pace of life means we are often in a state of high alert, causing our bodies to release stress hormones that stimulate the ‘fight or flight’ response. This affects our ability to sleep soundly, digest our food, focus, feel grounded, and even our ability to conceive a child.

Come experience the profound, yet subtle power of restorative yoga in this program, and learn to craft thoughtful sequences for yourself and others.

Trauma Informed Yoga Methodology & Practice

In this three-day training, you will learn the true importance and benefits of including trauma informed techniques into your teaching and personal yoga practice. Trauma is about what has happened to the body, not what is wrong with the body. We will cover the neurobiology (brain and nervous system) and physiology (body operating systems) of trauma and prolonged stress (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and how to apply this wisdom into your teaching. This approach will also provide support with verbal cueing and set up of postures, sequencing, and creating a safe space for all students.

Tuition

$695 includes two in-depth manuals, three teachers, and a beautiful space.

It is my passion to blend ancient philosophies of yoga and wellness with modern anatomy, neurobiology, and trauma research. As we journey thorough life, our life imprints upon us. This happens naturally within the body via the senses and encodes into the body’s memory, the nervous system. This sometimes creates habitual holding patterns in the body and/or distorted views of reality based of prior experiences; especially if they were overwhelming, scary, or unpleasant. This is a normal reaction to an abnormal situation. By observing the stories we are telling ourselves to be true, we can create change in how we perceive the world around us. Releasing defenses that no longer serve our growth or current reality. https://www.bhramariseattle.com/

Jodi Boone

Jodi feels that yoga is a precious gift and one of the greatest influences in her life. Initially drawn to yoga for the physical benefits of becoming stronger and more flexible, she soon realized there was something even more profound than the effect it was having on her body. Yoga deeply touched her heart, spirit and mind. Practicing yoga for many years led Jodi to seek teachers and teachings  in many places, close to home in Seattle, as well as in many parts of the world. Yoga became her passion, in addition to the work she was doing with different nonprofit organizations as a grant writer.  Drawn to sharing yoga with others, Jodi began teaching in 2001.  Since, she has continued her studies by taking numerous teacher training courses, workshops and retreats. The path also led Jodi to become a certified pre-and postnatal instructor and labor support doula. She has also studied yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda. Jodi offers trainings in Pre and Postnatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Foundations in Ayurveda annually in Osaka, Japan. She teaches to inspire others to experience yoga within all aspects of ourselves, creating a sense of wholeness among our hearts, bodies, minds, spirits and hearts. This sense of wholeness or oneness also dissolves our sense of separation from others. She encourages students to go inward; nourishing themselves, deepening their intuition and honoring the divine within. https://www.jodiboone.com
